A Special Court Baron of the Right Honourable Richard Lord Onslow Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Tuesday the fifteenth day of May in the thirty second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c And in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & fifty nine Before John Chatfield Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage.

At this Court came here into Court in his proper Person Edmund Clifton of Bisley in the County of Surry Brickmaker who has Survived Joan his late wife now deceased and Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All that his Copyhold or customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn Buildings Garden Orchard and half an acre of Land and together with all other the Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in the Parish of Bisley near a certain Lane there called Queen’s Lane To the use and Behoof of George Clifton of Wokeing in the said County Brickmaker his heirs and Assigns and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court came the said George Clifton in his proper Person and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with the Appurts  To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said George Clifton his heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of Sixpence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Estate as appears in the Margin [£2.5s] He is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seisin by the Rod and did Fealty.
