Admittance of James Collyer
At this Court upon the third proclamation came here into Court in his proper person James Collyer and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Scite of a Messuage and parcel of Arable Land containing by estimation one acre and an half be the same more or less late the Estate Peter Quennell deceased and before then the Estate of George Martin deceased and since of Sarah Moore lying and being in the Parish of Bisley within the said Manor Which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of William Woods To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the rod To hold to the said James Collyer his heirs and assigns for ever by copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of Six pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such his admittance as appears in the Margin [£3 7s 6d] and his fealty was respited.
Absolute Surrender George Hill to James Bedford
The Homage aforesaid being sworn and charged on their Oath do present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the fifteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and forty five Whereby George Hill of Bisley in the County of Surrey Husbandman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor in consideration of the Sum of two hundred and twenty pounds to him paid by James Bedford of Knaphill in the said County Grocer did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and by the acceptance of Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor according to the custom of the said Manor The several parts and parcels hereinafter mentioned and described of All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Radsells Grove with the Barn Buildings Orchards Gardens and all the Lands thereto belonging with the appurtenances containing by estimation five Acres more or less in the Parish of Bisley late in the occupation of William Slaughter and since of John Hill that is to say the South end of the said Messuage the Garden before it the Orchard behind it half the Barn the West end half of the Yard and four Plots of Ground one against the House two below that and one against the Common Southward containing about two Acres and an half more or less To the use and behoof of the said James Bedford his heirs and assigns for ever
1st Proclamation
Now at this Court the first proclamation was made for the said James Bedford or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to the said several parts and parcels hereinbefore mentioned and described of All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Radsells Grove with the Barn Buildings Orchards Gardens and all the Lands thereto belonging with the appurtenances which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of George Hill to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the first proclamation and default are here inrolled.
Absolute Surrender John Field to John Robinson
The Homage also present a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the twenty first day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty six Whereby John Field late of the Parish of Woking in the said County Cordwainer but then of Bisley in the County of Surrey Husbandman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor in consideration of the Sum of One hundred pounds to him paid by John Robinson of Bisley aforesaid Farmer did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece or parcel of Land containing by estimation one Acre and an half or thereabouts now in the occupation of the said John Field lying in Bisley Green in the Parish and Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey together with the Messuage or Tenement and other Buildings thereupon lately erected and set up by the said John Field and which said Piece or parcel of Land is part and parcel of certain Premises heretofore described upon the Court Rolls of the said Manor as All those three pieces of Land being Coppice Ground containing by estimation one acre and an half called Brook Ground more or less and one Close of Land called Rough Ground containing by estimation three acres with the appurtenances in Bisley held by the yearly rent of two shillings Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services To the use and behoof of the said John Robinson his heirs and assigns for ever

Now at this Court upon the first proclamation came here into Court in his proper person the said John Robinson and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant The said piece or parcel of Land containing by estimation one Acre and an half with the Messuage or Tenement and other Buildings thereupon lately erected and set up in pursuance of the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the rod To hold to the said John Robinson his heirs and assigns for ever by copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly apportioned rent of Six pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such his admittance as appears in the Margin [£7 10s] and his fealty was respited.
Conditional Surrender James Woods to Mary Hockley
The Homage also present a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court in the word following to wit “Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey – Be it remembered that on the twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six James Woods of Windlesham in the County of Surrey Gardener one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Personally came before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the Sum of fifty pounds of lawful Money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency to him the said James Woods paid by Mary Hockley of Shiplake in the County of Oxford Spinster at or immediately before the making of this Surrender Hath surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor One Messuage Garden and Orchard and the Land thereto belonging with the appurtenances formerly in the occupation of John Snelling afterwards of James Martin since of Richard Daborn late of Stephen Collyer and now or late of James Collyer to which said premises the said James Woods was admitted Tenant at a Court Baron held for the said Manor on the nineteenth day of April One thousand eight hundred and thirty nine on the death of Elizabeth Woods And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the estate right title interest use trust property possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said James Woods of in to or out of the same premises and every part and parcel thereof To the use and behoof of the said Mary Hockley her heirs and assigns for ever according to the Custom of the said Manor Subject nevertheless to the Proviso or Condition hereinafter contained (that is to say) Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said James Woods his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any or either of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Mary Hockley her executors administrators or assigns the full Sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency with Interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year upon the twenty first day of September now next ensuing without fraud or delay and without making any deduction or abatement out of the same for or on account of any manner of taxes Payments or impositions or any other matter cause or thing whatsoever then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue ~ The X Mark of James Woods This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward In the presence of Edmund Vincent Received on the day and year first above written of and from the above named Mary Hockley the sum of fifty pounds being the consideration Money above mentioned to be paid by her to me. £50 The X Mark of James Woods ~ Witness Edmund Vincent”

The Homage also present a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six Whereby James Hone late of the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surrey but now of Henley on Thames in the County of Oxford Nurseryman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor in consideration of the Sum of thirty five pounds to him paid by James Bedford of Knaphill in the Parish of Woking in the said County of Surrey Shopkeeper did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and acceptance of Joseph Hockley of Guildford in the said County of Surrey Gentleman Steward of Courts of the said Manor All that Scite one Cottage and fourteen rods of Land by estimation more or less and one parcel of Land called the Common Plott containing by estimation one quarter of an acre lying at Knaphill in Bisley To the use and behoof of the said James Bedford his heirs and assigns for ever

Now at this Court upon the first proclamation came here into Court in his proper person the said James Bedford and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said Scite of one Cottage and fourteen rods of Land and one parcel of Land called the Common Plot lying at Knaphill in Bisley in pursuance of the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the rod To hold to the said James Bedford his heirs and assigns for ever by copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of One shilling Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such his admittance as appears in the Margin [£1 10s] and his fealty was respited.
Apportionment of Quitrent Searle and Robinson
At this Court the yearly rent of two shillings due and payable to the Lord of this Manor for all those three pieces of Land being Coppice Ground containing by estimation One Acre and an half called Brook Ground more or less And one Close of Land called Rough Ground containing by estimation three acres with the appurtenances in Bisley lately held by John Field was apportioned as follows to wit for all those three pieces of Copyhold Land to which Nathan Searle was admitted Tenant on the twenty eighth day of November One thousand eight hundred and forty three One shilling and six pence and for the said piece or parcel of Land containing by estimation one acre and an half together with the Messuage and other Buildings thereon erected to which John Robinson hath at this Court been admitted Six pence.
