The Homage Present That Mary Nicholas of Froyle in the County of Southampton Widow One of the Customary or Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor Did out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the twenty second of the above mentioned Month of January Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All that One Tenement with a Barn Edifices Gardens and appurts to the same belonging and two Parcels of Land called Brook Ground lying together containing by Estimation three Acres formerly the lands of William Claverly and Since of the Earl of Aylesford Situate lying and being in the Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of two Shillings Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed Also All that one Meadow called little Mead by Estimation One Acre and an half with the appurts formerly the lands of the said William Claverly and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of four pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also All those two Closes of Land by Estimation Two Acres and an half with the appurts formerly the lands of the said William Claverly and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of one Shilling Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also All that One Meadow lying in Churchburn Mead and One Acre lying in the Common Field called Widecroft formerly the lands of William Claverly and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of One Shilling Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also All that One Messuage called Wellers with all the Barns Stables Edifices Gardens Orchards and Curtilages to the said Messuage belonging And three Closes to the same belonging containing by Estimation Seven Acres And one Meadow called Well Croft And One Acre of land by Estimation lying in the Common Field called Northhills And half an Acre of Meadow lying in a Common Mead called Westburn Mead And four Acres of Land by Estimation lying in the Common Field called Neltro with the Appurts formerly the land of Joseph Hone and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of five Shillings and One Penny half penny Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also all those four Acres of land lying in Wide Croft with the Appurts in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of Seven pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also all those four Acres of land lying in Wide Croft with the Appurts in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of Seven pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. Also all that Coppice or Parcel of Woodground abutting in Lomepitts lane called Paynes by Estimation Six Acres late Cobbetts of the Pound and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of One Shilling and Six pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed. And also all that Close of Land called Northhills containing by Estimation four Acres and an half formerly Parcel of the Land of Henry Cobbett and afterwards of Joseph Hone and Since of the Earl of Aylesford in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly rent of ten Pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And all her estate and Interest in or to the same and all and every part and parcel thereof To which the said Mary Nicholas was at a Court Baron held for the said Manor the twenty first Day of October One thousand seven hundred and Sixty five admitted as Daughter and heir at Law according to the Custom of the said Manor to her late Father William Draper Esquire To the Use and Behoof of Thomas Loveland of Chobham in the said County Yeoman his heirs and assigns for ever whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Tenement Barn Edifices Garden and two Parcels of land called Brook Ground with the appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Two Shillings Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Meadow with the appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of four Pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his second Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Two Acres of land with the appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of One Shilling Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his third Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said last mentioned Meadow and One Acre lying in the Common Field with their several and respective appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of One Shilling Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his fourth Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Messuage called Wellers several Closes of Land and Meadow grounds with their several and respective appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of five Shillings and one penny half penny Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his fifth Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said several Lands with their several and respective appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Seven Pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his sixth Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Coppice or parcel of Woodground with the appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of One Shilling and Six pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Seventh Admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again the said Thomas Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Close of land with the appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Loveland his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ten pence Heriot when it happens Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and the said Thomas Loveland Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Eighth admittance and Seven former Admittances as appears in the margin [?] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And immediately after such Eight Admittances came again the said Thomas Loveland in his proper Person and in open Court Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod according to the Custom of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All and every the said Eight several Copyhold Estates with their several and respective appurts To the Use and Behoof of John Hone of Bisley aforesaid Gentleman his heirs and assigns for ever Provided always nevertheless That if the said Thomas Loveland his heirs Executors Admors or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Hone his Executors or Admors the full Sum of four hundred Pounds of lawful money of great Britain with Interest for the same after the rate of four Pounds for One hundred Pounds for a year on or upon the twenty third Day of July next ensuing without any Deduction or abatement whatsoever Then the said Surrender is to be void and of no effect Or else to remain in full force and Virtue.
[Margin note: Memorandum That on the twenty third Day of July 1767 John Hone in this Surrender named did acknowledge That he had received of and from Thomas Loveland in this Surrender also named the sum of Four hundred pounds principal money and all Interest accrued due in respect thereof and by a Warrant under his hand of this Day’s date did Impower the Steward of the Manor to Enter his acknowledgement of his having received payment and satisfaction on the rolls of the Court of the said Manor accordingly.
