Further Conditional Surrender Mr George Sawkins to Mr Joseph Hockley
Be it remembered that on the tenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty George Sawkins of Bisley in the County of Surrey Husbandman one of the copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Edmund Vincent Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the sum of Forty pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and currency to him the said George Sawkins in hand well and truly paid by Joseph Hockley of Guildford in the County of Surrey Gentleman Hath Surrendered and Doth Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor All that customary Messuage or Tenement one Garden one Barn and one Stable with the appurtenances in Bisley Green within this Manor and three quarters of an acre of land there to which said premises the said George Sawkins was admitted tenant at a General Court Baron held for the said Manor on the sixteenth day of May now last past and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the Estate right title Interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever of the said George Sawkins of into or out of the said premises and every or any part thereof To the only proper and absolute use and Behoof of the said Joseph Hockley his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said George Sawkins his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Joseph Hockley his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of sixty pounds together with Interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for every one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and Currency upon the tenth day of June next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay (over and besides the principal sum of Sixty pounds and Interest from henceforth to grow due for the same respectively secured by a conditional Surrender of the same premises made by the said George Sawkins to the use of the said Joseph Hockley on the eighth day of June now last past all interest for the said sum of Sixty pounds being paid to the day of making this Surrender) Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue George Sawkins ~ This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Edmund Vincent Steward In the presence of Charles Sheppard Clerk to Mr Hockley Sol.r Guildford.
