A Special Court Baron of The Right Honorable Richard Lord Onslow Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor held for the said Manor on Tuesday the Third day of December in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & Seventy one Before John Chandler Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage present that Robert Goreing one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor Three Acres of Land (whereon a Messuage hath been Erected) with the Appurtenances formerly Parcel of the Waste of this Manor lying at Hasell Hill between Cowshott and Staverke Lane in Bisley within this Manor Died Seized thereof  just before the last Court and that there became due and ought to have been Seized for the use of the Lord of this Manor an Heriot, to wit, the best living Animal of the said Robert Goodener but the said Robert Goodener had no living Animal at the time of his Death and that Robert Goodener of Wokeing Yeoman is his Eldest Son and next Heir of full Age Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation Came into Court in his proper Person the said Robert Goodener and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Premes with the Appurts To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said Robert Goodener his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when is shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the Margin [£2.14s] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.
And immediately afterwards Came into Court in his proper Person the said Robert Goodener and Surrendered by the Rod into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward according to the Custom of this Manor All and Singular the said Premes to which he had been just before Admitted And all other his Messuages Lands Tenements and Heredits holden of this Manor To the Use and Behoof of such Person or Persons and for such Estate and Estates as he the said Robert Goodener already hath or hereafter shall in or by his last Will and Testament in Writing or any Writing Purporting to be his last Will and Testament Give Devise Limit or Appoint the same.
