The General Court Baron of The Right Honorable William Hillier Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor held in and for the said Manor on Thursday the thirtieth day of August in the fifty eighth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four Before Humphrey Percy Smallpeice Gentleman Deputy of Frederic Ferdinand Smallpeice Gentleman Chief Steward there.

Admittance of George Waterer
At this Court upon the second proclamation came here into Court in his own proper person George Waterer of Knaphill Woking in the County of Surrey and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to All that piece or parcel of arable land containing by admeasurement four acres and three roods be the same more or less lying in the parish and Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey abutting on the highway leading from Guildford to Bagshot on the east and on the freehold land formerly sold by John Knowles and James Stedman to John Deacon on the North and which said Piece or parcel of land is part and parcel of premises formerly described on the Court Rolls of the said Manor as “All those copyhold lands arable meadow and pasture with the appurtenances containing by estimation nineteen acres more or less in the Parish of Bisley” and is now known by the name of the Hen and Chickens Field which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of Harriet Waterer To whom the Lord of the manor aforesaid by his Deputy Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the rod To hold to the said George Waterer his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one shilling Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted tenant thereof in form aforesaid. Gave to the Lord as a fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£14] and his fealty was respited
Absolute Surrender Walter Faggetter to James Cook
The Homage present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court to wit on the first day of September One thousand eight hundred and ninety one Whereby Walter Faggetter of Pirbright in the County of Surrey Carpenter one of the copyhold or customary tenants of this Manor in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds to him paid by James Cook of Bisley in the same County Farmer Did Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and acceptance of Richard Sparkes Gentleman Deputy Steward for that purpose only and according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece or parcel of land formerly parcel of the waste of this Manor lying near Staveck (now known as Staffords) Lake containing by estimation seventy rods more or less together with the three cottages or tenements thereupon erected and set up late in the occupations of James Hill George Mitchell and _________ Boylett and now of William Harding and Mess.rs Hockley and Inwood with the appurtenances in Bisley to which the said Walter Faggetter was admitted tenant at a Special Court held for the said Manor on the twenty ninth day of August One thousand eight hundred and ninety one To the use of the said James Cook his heirs and assigns for ever at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor at and under the suits and services therefore due and of right accustomed
1st Proclamation on Surrender of Walter Faggetter
Now at this Court the first proclamation was made for the said James Cook or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that the said piece or parcel of land formerly parcel of the waste of this Manor lying near Staveck (now known as Staffords) Lake containing by estimation seventy rods more or less together with the three cottages or tenements thereupon erected and set up late in the occupations of James Hill George Mitchell and _________ Boylett and now of William Harding and Mess.rs Hockley and Inwood with the appurtenances in Bisley which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of the said Walter Faggeter to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the first proclamation and default are here inrolled.
Absolute Surrender Catherine Wild to Henry Hill
The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court to wit on the second day of August One thousand eight hundred and ninety four Whereby Catherine Wild of Harting in the County of Sussex Widow (formerly Catherine Luff Spinster) one of the copyhold or customary tenants of this Manor in consideration of the sum of forty pounds to her paid by Henry Hill of Hope Cottage Bisley Green in the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surrey an attendant at the Brookwood Lunatic Asylum Did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of Harry George Poulter Gentleman Deputy Steward for that purpose only and according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece or parcel of land sometime since enclosed from the waste containing by estimation one acre and twenty two rods situate at or near Riding Hill within the said Manor and lying on the south west side of the garden formerly of J_____ Hill and not on the North west side thereof as heretofore erroneously described to which said premises the said Catherine Wild was admitted tenant at a General Court Baron held for the said manor on the seventh day of June One thousand eight hundred and seventy two To the use of the said Henry Hill his heirs and assigns for ever at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor

Now at this Court the first proclamation was made for the said Henry Hill or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that the said piece or parcel of land sometime since enclosed from the waste containing by estimation one acre and twenty two rods situate at or near Riding Hill within the said Manor and lying on the south west side of the garden formerly of J_____ Hill and not on the North west side thereof as heretofore erroneously described which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of the said Catherine Wild to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the first Proclamation and default are here enrolled
Conditional Surrender Louisa Amelia Wing to
William Thomas Neighbour and Edwin Albery
The Homage also present a certain Conditional Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court in the words following “Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey – Be it remembered that on the twentyninth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty eight Louisa Amelia Wing wife of Frederick Wing of Bisley in the County of Surrey Farmer a customary tenant of the said Manor came before Frederic Ferdinand Smallpeice Gentleman Steward of the said Manor and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred pounds to her the said Louisa Amelia Wing paid by William Thomas Neighbour of Petersfield in the County of Southampton Grocer and Edwin Albery of Midhurst in the County of Sussex Gentleman (out of monies belonging to them on a joint account) and in pursuance of a covenant contained in an Indenture bearing date herewith and expressed to be made between them the said Louisa Amelia Wing of the one part and William Thomas Neighbour and Edwin Albery of the other part did out of Court surrender by the rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the hands and acceptance of the said ______ Steward All that one messuage or tenement called Goddens with a barn and all other the buildings curtilages gardens and orchards thereto belonging and three pieces of land with the appurtenances thereto adjoining whereof one was called Mead Close containing by estimation three acres with the appurtenances lying in Bisley within that Manor and held by the yearly rent of nine pence heriot suit of Court and other services Which said premises are numbered 61(part of) 62 and 63 on the Ordnance Map of the said Parish of Bisley and are now found by admeasurement to contain three acres and eighteen perches or thereabouts And also All those two closes of arable land (now thrown together) containing by estimation three acres with the appurtenances lying in Bisley held by the yearly rent of One shilling and four pence heriot suit of Court and other services and numbered 82 on the ordnance Map for the said Parish of Bisley and are now found by admeasurement to contain two acres three roods and thirty nine perches or thereabouts And also All those two undivided moieties or equal half parts the whole into two equal parts to be divided of and in All that piece or parcel of land called or known by the name of Westwood field and containing by estimation four acres and numbered 71 on the Ordnance Map for the said Parish of Bisley and are now found by admeasurement to contain three acres two roods and ten perches or thereabouts And also of and in All that piece or parcel of land called or known by the name of Westwood mead and containing by estimation Two acres and numbered 69 on the Ordnance Map for the said Parish of Bisley and are now found by admeasurement to contain Two acres three roods and sixteen perches or thereabouts And also of and in All that piece or parcel of land called or known by the name of Neltro Common field (in two pieces) and containing by estimation two acres And also of and in All that piece or parcel of land called or known by the name of Butts field and containing by estimation two acres with the appurtenances lying in Bisley within and held of the said Manor And also all that piece or parcel of land or ground containing one acre two roods and twenty nine perches or thereabouts situate and being in Neltro common field within the said Manor bounded on the North by old enclosed lands belonging in part to William Chandler and in part to ______________ and also by the allotment numbered 9 on the enclosure plan and the allotment next hereinafter described and numbered 5 on the same plan on the east by a road leading from Guildford to Bisley on the south by the Allotment awarded to William Elliott and numbered 10 and 11 on the same plan and on the West by the allotment awarded to William Chandler deceased and numbered 8 on the same plan Which said piece of land is numbered 4 on the said plan And also all that adjoining piece or parcel of land formerly the property of the said William Chandler deceased containing twenty one perches bounded on the North by land of the said William Chandler and on the South and East and West by the said Allotment Numbered 4 on the said Inclosure plan which Allotment lastly hereinbefore described is numbered 5 on the said plan Which said four last mentioned pieces of land have been thrown together and are numbered 90 and 92 on the Ordnance Map for the said parish of Bisley and are now found by admeasurement to contain Five acres two roods and thirty two perches or thereabouts All which said copyhold hereditaments were lately in the occupation of William Chandler deceased To all which said premises the said Louisa Amelia Wing was admitted Tenant on this day To the use of the said William Thomas Neighbour and Edwin Albery their heirs and assigns for ever To be holden at the Will of the Lord and by and under the rents fines suits and services therefor due and of right accustomed Subject to this condition that if the said Louisa Amelia Wing her heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto the said William Thomas Neighbour and Edwin Albery or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor their or his assigns the sum of Five hundred pounds with interest for the same in the meantime at the rate of Four pounds per centum per annum on the twenty ninth day of March next then this Surrender is to be void Louisa Amelia Wing ~ Taken and accepted the day and year first above Conditional Surrender William George Holt to Ernest Dent Vaisey and John Reid
The Homage also present a certain Conditional Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court in the following words to wit “Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey – Be it remembered that out of Court on the second day of August One thousand eight hundred and ninety two William George Holt of Guildford in the County of Surrey Upholsterer one of the copyhold or customary Tenants of the said Manor came before me Humphrey Percy Smallpeice Gentleman Deputy Steward of the said Manor and in consideration of the sum of Forty three pounds nineteen shillings and nine pence to him the said William George Holt paid by The Capital and Counties Bank Limited (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) and of such further sum or sums to be hereafter advanced not exceeding in the aggregate the sum of One hundred pounds Did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod by and acceptance of me the Deputy Steward and according to the custom thereof First All that the site of one cottage and fourteen rods of land by estimation more or less one parcel of land called the Common Plott containing by estimation one quarter of an acre lying at Knaphill in Bisley with the appurtenances Secondly All that cottage or tenement with all the lands thereunto belonging containing by estimation One acre and an half or thereabouts formerly in the occupation of John Crouch and late of John Carman situate lying and being within and held of the said Manor Thirdly All those two acres of land called Miles Grove within this Manor and which said two acres of land adjoin Port Lane on the east the copyhold land late of William Walden called Wheat Leas on the west two acres other part of Miles Grove heretofore surrendered by James Living to the use of James Stedman on the north and another acre part of Miles Grove also heretofore surrendered by the said James Living to the use of James Hone on the south Fourthly All that piece or parcel of the waste of this Manor lying and being at Stavock Lake in the said Manor adjoining to property belonging to the said William George Holt on the south side thereof containing about an acre more or less And also All that piece or parcel of the waste of this Manor lying opposite to the said property called Stavock Lake and adjoining to other property of the said William George Holt on the North side thereof and containing about one acre more or less To which said premises the said William George Holt was admitted Tenant at a Special Court Baron on the nineteenth day of November One thousand eight hundred and eighty five And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and of every part thereof And all the estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said William George Holt in and to the same premises and every part thereof To the use and behoof of Ernest Dent Vaisey and John Reid both of 39 Threadneedle Street in the city of London Gentlemen their heirs and assigns for ever at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor Subject nevertheless to and upon this express condition that if the said William George Holt his heirs executors or administrators do and shall on the second day of February now next ensuing well and duly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Capital and Counties Bank Limited the sum of Forty three pounds nineteen shillings and nine pence and also on demand such further sum or sums as aforesaid not exceeding in the aggregate the sum of One hundred pounds with interest for the same sum and sums at the rate of Five pounds per centum per annum to be computed from the date of this Surrender without any deduction whatsoever Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue And it is hereby agreed and declared that the power of sale and all other powers conferred on Mortgagees by the Conveyancing and Law of Property Act 1881 shall be incidental to this Surrender And further that all moneys now and hereafter to be advanced to the said William George Holt is and will be part of moneys belonging to the Capital and Counties Bank Limited – W G Holt - Taken and accepted the day and year first above written By and before me Humphrey P Smallpeice – Depy Steward”

Conditional Surrender Harden Honnor to Sarah Hills
The Homage also present a certain Conditional Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court in the following words to wit “Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey – Be it remembered that out of Court on the fifth day of November One thousand eight hundred and ninety two Harden Honnor of Laleham in the County of Surrey Farmer came before me Henry Edwards Payne of Chertsey in the County of Surrey Gentleman Deputy Steward of the said Manor for this turn and in pursuance of a covenant for that purpose contained in a certain Indenture bearing date the fifth day of November One thousand eight hundred and ninety two and made between Thomas Fladgate Harris and Henry Edwards Paine of the first part the said Harden Honnor of the second part and Sarah Hills of the third part Surrendered out of his hands into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the hands and acceptance of his said Steward according to the custom of the said Manor All that copyhold messuage or tenement with all the lands to the same belonging in Bisley aforesaid and also All that one parcel of customary heathy lands called Feets containing by estimation Three acres more or less with the appurtenances lying in Bisley aforesaid To which premises the said Harden Honnor was admitted Tenant at a Special Court Baron on the twenty ninth day of May One thousand eight hundred and fifty eight To the use of the said Sarah Hills and her heirs at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by and under the rents suits and services therefore due and of right accustomed Subject nevertheless to this condition that if the said Harden Honnor his heirs executors or administrators shall on the fifth day of May next pay to the said Sarah Hills her executors administrators or assigns the sum of Eight hundred pounds with interest for the same at the rate of Five pounds per cent per annum computed from the date of this Surrender then and in such case this Surrender shall be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue – Harden Honnor – This surrender was taken and accepted the day and year before written by me H E Payne – Deputy Steward for this turn”
[Margin note: Be it remembered that on the fifth day of December One thousand eight hundred and ninety seven Sarah Hills in this Surrender named did by writing under her hand acknowledge that she had on the fifth day of October then last received of and from Ellen Augusta Skipper the wife of _____ Skipper by the direction of Harden Honnor and Reuben Honnor the Trustees of the Will of Harden Honnor in this Surrender named the sum of Five hundred and fifty pounds in part satisfaction of the principal moneys and interest due and owing upon and by virtue of this Surrender and did thereby require the Steward of this Manor to enter up Satisfaction thereof on the Court Rolls of the said Manor so far as concern the hereditaments Copyhold of the said Manor. Death of William Triggs
The Homage also present that William Triggs late one of the copyhold or customary tenants of this Manor who held to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece or parcel of the Waste of this manor containing about fifty yards in length and six yards in depth and being contiguous to and adjoining the East end of his premises situate at Riding Hill within this Manor And also All that small strip of the waste of this manor adjoining to the north west side of the said premises containing about ninety yards in length and two yards in width by the yearly rent of six pence Heriot certain one shilling suit of Court and other services and customs died since the last Court so thereof seized Whereupon a Heriot certain of One shilling became due to Lord of this Manor

Now at this Court the first proclamation was made for the heir at law of the said William Triggs deceased or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that the said piece or parcel of the Waste of this manor containing about fifty yards in length and six yards in depth and being contiguous to and adjoining the east end of his premises situate at Riding Hill within this Manor And also All that small strip of the waste of this manor adjoining to the north west side of the said premises containing about ninety yards in length and two yards in width which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of the said William Triggs to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the first proclamation and default are here inrolled.
Death of Stephen Steptoe
The Homage also present that Stephen Steptoe late one of the copyhold or customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor All that copyhold cottage or tenement with the turf house garden and orchard or backside and all other the appurtenances situate lying and being between Cowshot and Staveck Lane in Bisley within the said Manor by the yearly rent of four pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs And also All those four acres called Radsells lying in two closes within this manor one close whereof is arable land and the other meadow ground by the yearly rent of eight pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs died since the last Court so thereof seized Whereupon two heriots of the two best beasts became due to Lord of this Manor but none were seized because the said Stephen Steptoe had no live beast at the time of his death

Enfranchisement by William Lee
The Homage also present that the Copyhold hereditaments to which William Lee was admitted tenant at a Special Court Baron held for this Manor on the fifth day of February one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine had been lately enfranchised and are now held freely of this Manor.
Enfranchisement by Louisa Amelia Wing
The Homage also present that the Copyhold hereditaments to which Louisa Amelia Wing was admitted tenant at a Special Court Baron held for this Manor on the twenty ninth day of September one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight have lately been enfranchised and are now held freely of this Manor.
Enfranchisement by The Right Honble Francis Charteris Earl of Weymss and March
The Homage also present that the Copyhold hereditaments to which The Right Honorable Francis Charteris Earl of Weymss and March was admitted Tenant at a Special Court Baron held for this Manor on the twenty fourth day of December one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine have been lately enfranchised and are now held freely of this Manor.

The Homage also present that the Copyhold hereditaments to which George Eacott was admitted Tenant at a Special Court Baron held for this Manor on the twenty sixth day of November one thousand eight hundred and ninety three namely All that piece or parcel of land or garden ground known as “Across the Green” containing one acre one rood thirty six perches (more or less) situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid late in the occupation of William Eacott deceased and now of the said George Eacott has been lately enfranchised and are now held freely of this Manor.
