At a Special Court Baron of The Right Honorable William Hillier Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor held in and for the said Manor on Tuesday the twentieth day of August in the forty second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight Before Frederic Ferdinand Smallpeice Gentleman Steward there.

Death of James Hone
At this Court came here into Court Lydia Hone of Henley on Thames in the County of Oxford Widow and Henry Clements of the same place Collector of Taxes by Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and informed the said Steward that James Hone late one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this manor who held to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor  All that Cottage with a garden yard and appurtenances situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid formerly in the occupation of William Pritchett and since of William Harvey by the yearly rent of two pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and customs to all which he was admitted tenant at a General Court Baron held in and for the said Manor on the twenty third day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty two died since the last court so thereof seized  And that the said James Hone was also entitled at the time of his decease to Firstly All that one close of customary arable land containing by estimation one acre more or less now commonly known as “Black Jacks” situate near to Bisley Church and containing by estimation one acre one rood and three perches which said close formerly formed part and parcel of the copyhold premises described on the Court Rolls of the said Manor as “All that customary messuage or tenement with the Orchard formerly in the tenure of Philip Roberts and one close of land to the same belonging containing by estimation one acre more or less and one acre of land more or less in Neltro with the appurtenances”  Secondly all that one close of customary land late woodland containing two acres now commonly known as “Smith’s Plat” and containing by admeasurement one two acres and one perch And thirdly all that piece or parcel of land or ground containing one acre two roods and twenty nine perches situate and being in Neltro Common Field and bounded on the North by old enclosed lands belonging in part to ______ and in part to ________ and also by the allotment numbered 9 on the Inclosure Plan and the allotment next hereinafter described and numbered 5 on the same plan on the East by a road leading from Guildford to Bisley on the South by the Allotments awarded to William Eacott and numbered 10 and 11 on the same plan and on the West by the Allotment awarded to William Chandler and numbered 8 on the said plan which said piece of land was numbered 4 on the said plan And also all that piece or parcel of old inclosed land late the property of the said William Chandler containing Twenty one perches and bounded on the North by other old inclosed land of the said William Chandler and on the South and East and West by the said Allotment numbered 4 on the said Inclosure plan which said Allotment last hereinbefore described is numbered 5 on the said plan and which premises secondly and thirdly hereinbefore described are the Copyhold premises formerly described on the Court Rolls of the said Manor as “All that one close of customary arable land late Woodland containing by estimation two acres more or less and two acres of land more or less lying in the Common Field called North Hill”  All which said hereditaments were surrendered to the use of the said James Hone by Thomas Heckstall Smith Joseph Prior and Edmund Boyle Church as presented at the last General Court Baron held in and for this Manor
His Will
And the said Lydia Hone and Henry Clements by the said Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney also produced to the said Steward the Probate of the last Will and Testament of the said James Hone which Will bore date the sixth day of March one thousand eight hundred and seventy five Whereby the said Testator after making a bequest of his furniture and other personal effects as therein mentioned devised and bequeathed all other his real and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto his wife the said Lydia Hone and the said Henry Clements their heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively Upon trust as therein mentioned

Admittance of Lydia Hone & Henry Clements
Now at this Court upon the first proclamation came here into Court the said Lydia Hone and Henry Clements by the said Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and humbly prayed to be admitted tenants to All that the said Cottage with a garden yard and appurtenances situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid formerly in the occupation of William Pritchett and since of William Harvey which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of the said James Hone To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin by the rod To hold to the said Lydia Hone and Henry Clements their heirs and assigns for ever Upon the trusts of the Will of the said James Hone deceased by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of two pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so they were by their said Attorney admitted tenants thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such their admittance as appears in the margin [1st life £4  2nd life £2] and their fealty was respited.

On Surrender of James Hone £11 5s; On death of Do. 1st life £15 Do. Do. and Do. £7 10s = £35 15s] and their fealty was respited.
