In the Matter of Esther Mersh spinster a Person of Unsound mind not so found by Inquisition

Upon the application of John Mersh of Kemishford Farm Woking in the County of Surrey Farmer the brother of the above named Esther Mersh and having been attended by the solicitor for the Applicant and upon reading the Affidavit of the said John Mersh sworn the Twenty second January One thousand nine hundred and one and the exhibit J.M. therein referred to the Affidavit of James Edward Barton sworn the Thirty first January One thousand nine hundred and one the Affidavit of Benjamin Horsman Grave sworn the Sixth March One thousand nine hundred and one of service of notice of this application on the said Esther Mersh on the Fifth March One thousand nine hundred and one the Affidavit of John Wilson sworn the Nineteenth March One thousand nine hundred and one and the undertaking of the said John Mersh dated the Nineteenth March One thousand nine hundred and one whereby he undertakes to apply all such moneys as he may receive belonging to the said Esther Mersh or her estate and all moneys which he may receive on her account in such manner as the Masters in Lunacy shall direct and to account for such moneys when required and further to give such security for the due application of and accounting for such moneys as may be required by any order of the Masters and to obtain and send every six months to the Masters a report from a duly qualified medical man as to the mental and bodily condition of the said Esther Mersh and further every six months to give notice in writing to the Masters of the then place of abode of the said Esther Mersh and further to use his best endeavours to produce the said Esther Mersh and to allow her to be visited by any Chancery visitor or other person authorised by the Masters to visit her and to give such directions as the Masters may require to facilitate such visits And it having been established to my satisfaction that the said Esther Mersh is though not so found by inquisition of unsound mind and incapable of managing her affairs and that her property does not exceed Two thousand pounds in value and that the income thereof does not exceed One hundred pounds per annum
I do order
1. That upon the Certificate of the Masters in Lunacy that he has completed his security the said John Mersh be and is hereby appointed to exercise as regards the estate of the said Esther Mersh the powers of a Committee of the estate as in the case of a person of unsound mind so found by inquisition  (signed) Wm Ambrose
