A View of Frankpledge with a General Court Baron of The Right Honorable George Lord Onslow and Cranley Lord of the said Manor there held for the said Manor on Friday the Twenty second day of April in the Thirty sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety six Before Joseph Pickstone Gentleman Steward there.

At this Court upon the third proclamation came into Court in his proper Person James Rogers and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that  Parcel of  Land with the Appurtenances called Butts containing by Estimation half an Acre three Acres of Land with the Appurtenances lying in the Common Field called Widecroft And half an Acre of Meadow with the Appurtenances lying in Churchborn Mead in Bisley aforesaid within this Manor (Save and Except All that one Acre  of Land lying in Widecroft within this Manor abutting West on Land belonging to Henry Street North on Land belonging to John Loveland East on Land belonging to the said John Loveland and South on Land belonging to James Martin which Henry Rogers some time since Surrendered to and to the use of John Loveland) which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of Henry Rogers To which said James Rogers the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid Granted the same To hold to him the said James Rogers his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards  he is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third proclamation came again into Court in his proper Person the said James Rogers and humbly prayed to be admitted to All those two  Parcels of Arable and one Parcel of Meadow Land with the Appurtenances lying in Bisley within this Manor which came into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor on the death of the said Henry Rogers To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same To hold to him the said James Rogers his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his former Admittance as appears in the Margin [£14 5s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited.
And because it appears to this Court that the said James Rogers is under the Age of Twenty one years to wit of the Age of Eighteen Years or thereabouts the Custody as well of the person of the said James Rogers as of the said several Estates of the said James Rogers is granted to James Fladgate until the said James Rogers shall attain the said Age of Twenty one Years He the said James Fladgate keeping and observing the Customs of the said Manor in all Things and keeping the Premises in good Repair and rendering an Account thereof to the said James Rogers when he shall have Attained the Age aforesaid And the said James Fladgate is Admitted Guardian accordingly.
