Of the Court Baron.
The Homage present That Moses Evered late one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date the thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five Did Give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth his beloved Wife for the Term of her natural Life All his Freehold and Copyhold House and Premises with all their Appurtenances called or known by any name or names whatsoever lying and being in the Parishes of Chobham Bisley and Wokeing all in the County of Surrey And further his Will and meaning was that his said Wife should cut down and sell so much Timber from off his Copyhold Lands in Bisley called Goddings that would Yield Money enough to pay all the expences she may be at the Courts in taking up his Copyhold Estates and to pay the Lord of the Manor his just dues out of the said Timber and if it should happen that there should be any money left for the Timber more than paying the Lord and the Steward their just dues then he gave such money to his Nephew Moses Beauchamp of Chobham and from and after the death of his said Wife He gave and disposed of all his real Estate as followeth He gave and bequeathed unto his Niece Elizabeth Daughter of his late Sister Elizabeth Beauchamp and her heirs and Assigns for ever All his Freehold Lands in Chobham with their Appurtenances by estimation six Acres more or less she allowing his said Wife three of the best Oak Trees to sell to help to pay her Expences at the Courts And if she should at any time have a Mind to sell it He begged she would give the Parish of Bisley the first offer of it  He gave and bequeathed unto Sarah then the Wife of James Stimson one other daughter of his said Sister and her Heirs and Assigns for ever All that his Copyhold Close of Land in Bisley by estimation three Acres more or less called Neltroe and one Acre in the Common Field called Neltroe with all their Appurtenances  Also he gave and bequeathed unto the said Sarah Stimson and her heirs and Assigns for ever All that his Copyhold Meadow in the Parish and Manor of Wokeing aforesaid by estimation two Acres more or less with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging she allowing his said Wife Four of the best Oak Trees to sell to help pay her expences at the Courts  He gave and bequeathed unto his Nephew Moses Beauchamp of Chobham and his heirs and Assigns for ever All that his Copyhold Messuage Barn Garden and all his copyhold Lands thereunto belonging with their Appurtenances called Goddings lying in Bisley aforesaid But his will was that his Wife do not cut any Timber from Goddings as he had given her those seven Oak Trees in their stead  Also he gave and bequeathed unto the said Moses Beauchamp and his Heirs and Assigns for ever All those his two Closes of Arable Land with their Appurtenances by estimation three Acres more or less lying and being in Bisley aforesaid adjoining to the end of Port Lane and Bisley Green And his Will was that neither of the said Moses nor Elizabeth nor Sarah nor their Heirs should have any thing to do with any of his said Estates until after the Death of his said Wife  Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation came into Court in her proper Person the said Elizabeth Evered and humbly prayed to be admitted to One Messuage or Tenement called Goddins with a Barn and all the Buildings Curtilages Gardens and Orchards thereto belonging and three pieces of Land with the Appurtenances thereto adjoining whereof one is called Mead Close containing by Estimation three acres with the appurtenances lying in Bisley within this Manor which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Moses Evered her late Husband  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Evered and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural life by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as appears afterwards She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in her proper Person the said Elizabeth Evered and humbly prayed to be admitted to All those two Closes of Arable Land containing by estimation three acres which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Moses Evered her late Husband  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Evered and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural life by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as appears afterwards She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in her proper Person the said Elizabeth Evered and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that parcel of Land by Estimation five acres heretofore inclosed out of the Common Field called Neltro abutting on Land then of John Goreing on the South and on Lands then of Henry Millest on the North with the Appurtenances in Bisley which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Moses Evered her late Husband  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Evered and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural life by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and her former Admittances as appears in the Margin [Fine for the whole £16] She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.

The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and Since the last Court to wit on the ninth day of November One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Seven Whereby Richard Freeland of Teddington in the County of Middlesex Yeoman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Did Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the Custom of the said Manor All that one Cottage and a Quarter of an acre of Land with the Appurtenances in Bisley within this Manor And all his Estate Right Title and Interest therein and thereto To all which said premises the said Richard Freeland was Admitted at a General Court Baron holden for the said Manor on Friday the Sixteenth day of April One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy nine To the only proper use and Behoof of William Stovell of Bisley aforesaid yeoman his Heirs and Assigns forever And for no other use Intent or purpose whatsoever  Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his proper Person the said William Stovell and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said premises in pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said William Stovell his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _____ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [18 Shill.s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came into Court in his proper Person William Stovell Eldest Son and Heir at Law of William Stovell his late Father deceased and humbly prayed to be admitted to One Messuage with the Appurtenances at Gateshedend with the Barn Garden Orchard and about One Acre and an half of Land to the same adjoining and belonging lying and being within the Manor of Bisley heretofore in the Occupation of Thomas May held by the yearly Rent of Four pence Heriot Suit of Court and other Services Which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of his said Father To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said William Stovell the Son his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Four Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in his proper Person William Stovell the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Scite of a Messuage and Parcel of Arable Land containing by estimation One Acre and an half be the same more or less late the Estate of Peter Quennell deceased and before the Estate of George Martin deceased and since of Sarah Moore lying and being in the Parish of Bisley within the said Manor held by the yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot Suit of Court and other Services Which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of his said Father To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said William Stovell the Son his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in his proper Person William Stovell the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to a Cottage Turf House and Garden thereunto belonging formerly Henry Carters abutting on the Common on the North and East parts and the Lands formerly Thomas Morlens on the West and South Situate and being in the Parish of Bisley aforesaid within the said Manor held by the yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot Suit of Court and other Services Which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of his said Father To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said William Stovell the Son his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in his proper Person William Stovell the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called or known by the name of Staple Brooks with the Barn and All Buildings Orchard Garden Yards and one Close of Meadow Land by estimation two acres more or less and one acre of Arable Land held by the yearly Rent of two pence half penny Heriot Suit of Court and other Customs and Services Which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of his said Father To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said William Stovell the Son his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of two pence half penny Heriot Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his former Admittances as appears in the Margin [Fine for the whole £18 18s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

Also at this Court came again into Court in his proper Person James Stovell and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called or known by the name of Staple Brooks with the Barn and All Buildings Orchard Garden Yards and one Close of Meadow Land by estimation two acres more or less and one acre of Arable Land held by the yearly Rent of two pence half penny Heriot Suit of Court and other Customs and Services Which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of the said William Stovell To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said James Stovell his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of two pence half penny Heriot Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his former Admittances as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court came again into Court in his proper Person James Stovell and humbly prayed to be admitted to All  that one Cottage and a Quarter of an acre of Land with the Appurtenances in Bisley within this Manor late Richard Freelands Which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of the said William Stovell To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said James Stovell his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his former Admittances as appears in the Margin [Fine for the whole £15] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

Also at this Court the second Proclamation is made If Arthur Harding or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted to All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement with all the Land to the same belonging in Bisley aforesaid And also to all that one parcel of Customary Heathy Lands called Feets containing by estimation three Acres more or less with the Appurtenances lying in Bisley aforesaid Which  came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of Arthur Harding  Would come into Court and take the same out of the Lords Hands he she or they should be heard But Nobody came Whereupon the second Proclamation and default as to each Estate are here inrolled.

Also at this Court the Second Proclamation is made If Henry Street or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted to All that Messuage or Tenement situate and lying in Bisley Green with the Land  Barn Stable Edifices Orchard and Garden thereto belonging and two acres of Land called Palmers and Anthonies two Acres of Land in the Common Field called Widecroft And One Close of Land called Westwood with the Appurtenances held by the Yearly Rent of One Shilling and Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services And also to All that Croft of Land called Bullrowson and three Crofts of Land and One Brook formerly parcel of a Tenement of Simon Butlers parcel of the Customary Land of this Manor with the Appurtenances And all buildings and Edifices thereupon Erected held by the yearly Rent of _____  Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services  And also to all that One parcel of Land called Newcotts containing by Estimation four Acres with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid held by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services All which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of John Street his Father Would come into Court and take the same out of the Lords Hands he she or they should be heard But Nobody came Whereupon the Second Proclamation and default as to Each Estate are here inrolled.

Also at this Court the Second Proclamation is made If Edward Jenkins or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted to All that Parcel of Ground containing by Estimation One Acre and an half more or less called Bisley Mead formerly in the Occupation of Thomas Loveland  by the yearly Rent of _____  Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services  Which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of Edward Jenkins his Father Would come into Court and take the same out of the Lords Hands he she or they should be heard But Nobody came Whereupon the Second Proclamation and default as to Each Estate are here inrolled.

Also at this Court came William Stovell one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor And Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the custom of the said Manor All his Equity of Redemption Benefit Right Title Interest Estate Claim and demand whatsoever of in and to One parcel of Land called Loompitts containing by Estimation Six acres be the same more or less in the said parish and Manor of Bisley  held by the yearly Rent of Four pence  Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed To the only use and Behoof of Charles Bartholomew of the parish of Chobham in the said County yeoman his Heirs and Assigns forever Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless If the said William Stovell his Heirs Executors administrators or Assigns shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid Unto the said Charles Bartholomew his Executors or Administrators the full Sum of One hundred pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain together with lawful Interest for the same upon the Eighteenth day of October next ensuing the date hereof without any Deduction to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever  Then this Surrender and a former Surrender made of the Same premises by the said William Stovell to the said Charles Bartholomew shall be Void or else remain in full force and Virtue.
[Margin note: Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred Charles Bartholomew in this Surrender named did by writing under his hand of that date acknowledge that he had long since received the Principal and Interest monies owing to him on this Surrender And also on another Conditional surrender of the same Premises made by William Stovell in this Surrender also named  bearing date the twentieth day of October  one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven And did authorize the Steward of this Manor to enter his Acknowledgement of having received satisfaction for the same on the Court Rolls or Books of this Manor.  Joseph Pickstone Stew.d]

The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the twenty seventh day of June one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven Whereby John Eacott of Chobham in the said County of Surrey yeoman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the custom of the said Manor All that Messuage in Bisley Green with the Edifices Gardens Orchard and Parcel of Land to the same adjoining containing by Estimation half an acre be the same more or less And all his Estate Right Title and Interest therein and thereto  To the only proper use and Behoof of John Collyer of Knaphill in the parish of Horsell in the said County of Surrey yeoman his Heirs and Assigns forever And to or for no other use Intent or purpose Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his proper Person the said John Collyer and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Premises in pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said John Collyer his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£2 2s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

The Homage also present a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the Twenty fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven Whereby Elizabeth Dudman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of John Eacott and Philip Gyles two other Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor  All that copyhold Cottage or Tenement with all her Copyhold Lands by Estimation half an Acre of Land more or less Situate lying and being near Bisley Green with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging  To the only use and Behoof of Thomas Dudman of the parish of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Husbandman and his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the Custom of the said Manor Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his proper Person the said Thomas Dudman and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Premises in pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said Thomas Dudman his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£2 2s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

The Homage also present a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the Twenty sixth day of January one thousand seven hundred and Eighty Eight Whereby James Hodd of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Shopkeeper One of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the Custom of the said Manor  All that little Meadow platt called Turks Platt containing an Acre of Land more or less And also One Acre of land in Neltro in two parcels One Acre of Land in Wide Croft One Acre of Land in South Earsh And One Acre of Wood with the appurtenances And  all his Estate Right Title and Interest therein and thereto  To the only use and Behoof of James Loveland of Bisley in the said County of Surrey yeoman his Heirs and Assigns forever and to and for no other use Intent or purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his proper Person the said James Loveland and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Premises in pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to him the said James Loveland his Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£5 5s] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is respited.

Also at this Court came Sarah Thick only Daughter and Heir at Law of Sally Thick late one of the copyhold or customary Tenants of this Manor and humbly prayed to be admitted to A Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn and other outbuildings Orchards Gardens Yards backsides and appurts thereto belonging formerly in the Tenure of William Johnson or his Assigns which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Sally Thick  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to her the said Sarah Thick her Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as appears afterwards She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court came again into Court the said And humbly prayed to be admitted to All Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn and other outbuildings Orchards those five closes of copyhold arable Meadow or pasture Land containing by estimation Seven Acres more or less in Bisley within this Manor which also came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Sally Thick  To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward granted the same To Hold to her the said Sarah Thick her Heirs and Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and her former Admittance as appears in the Margin [£15 15s] She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.  And because it appears to this Court that the said Sarah Thick is an Infant under the age of Twenty one years Viz.t of the age of Seven Years or thereabouts the custody as well of the person of the said Sarah Thick as of the said several Estates of the said Sarah Thick is Granted to Henry Knowles of Horsell in the County of Surrey yeoman until the said Sarah Thick shall attain the age of Twenty one years He the said Henry Knowles keeping and observing the Customs of the said Manor in all things and keeping the said premises in good Repair And rendering an Account thereof to the said Infant when she shall Attain the said age of twenty one years And the said Henry Knowles is admitted Guardian accordingly.
