A View of frankpledge with a General Court Baron of The Right Honorable George Lord Onslow and Cranley Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Friday the Sixteenth day of April in the Nineteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth  And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred & seventy nine Before John Chandler Gentleman Steward there.

Of the Court Baron

The Homage Present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court, to wit, the Ninth day of November One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Whereby Thomas Waterer of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Carpenter and Ann his Wife did (the said Ann being first separately Examined a part from her said Husband by Thomas Sibthorpe Gentleman Deputy of John Chandler Gentleman Chief Steward of the said Manor and Consenting) Surrender by the Rod into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the Custom of the said Manor All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Edsmead and four Closes of Land by Estimation four Acres and an half with the Buildings Gardens Orchards and Appurtenances thereto belonging in the Occupation of Mary Collyer whereto the said Ann Waterer was admitted on the Death of her Father Richard Hodd at a Court Baron held for the said Manor on the fifteenth day of October One thousand seven hundred and sixty seven To The Use and Behoof of John Collyer of Collingly in the Parish of Chobham in the said County of Surrey Yeoman his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the Custom of the said Manor and to or for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever  Provided always Nevertheless if the said Thomas Waterer and Ann his Wife or either of them their or either of their Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns did and should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Collyer his Executors Admors or Assigns the full and just Sum of Sixty pounds together with Interest for the same from thenceforth at the rate of four Pounds for One hundred pounds for a Year of lawful Money of Great Britain upon the ninth day of May next ensuing the date thereof without making any Deduction or abatement thereout whatsoever for Parliamentary or state Taxes Imposed or to be Imposes or for or in respect of any other Matter or Thing whatsoever and without fraud or further delay That then the above mentioned Surrender is void and of no Effect
[Margin Note: Be it Remembered That I John Collyer in this Surrender named do hereby acknowledge that I have this day had and received of and from Thomas Waterer in this Surrender also named All Principal and Interest due to me on this Surrender And I do hereby acknowledge Satisfaction thereof Witness my hand this 8th day of November 1783  John Collyer  Witness Tho.s Sibthorpe]

At this Court upon the third Proclamation came into Court in his Proper Person George Carman of Bisley in the County of Surrey Labourer and humbly prayed to be admitted to all that Cottage or Tenement with all the Lands thereunto belonging containing by Estimation One acre and an half or thereabouts formerly in the occupation of John Crouch and now or late of John Carman which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of John Carman To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said George Carman his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of six pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£4]  he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.

Also at this Court the third Proclamation is made If  ___________ Field or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a Right to be Admitted to all that Messuage Barn Garden Orchard and one Acre and an half or Arable and Meadow Land with the Appurtenances in the Parish of Bisley formerly in the Occupation of John Cheeseman would come into Court and take the same out of the Lords hands He she or they should be heard but nobody came  Whereupon the third Proclamation and default are here Inrolled.

Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came into Court in her Proper Person Hester Freeland Widow and Devisee for Life of Henry Freeland and humbly prayed to be admitted to all that one Messuage or Tenement and three Closes of Land containing by Estimation two acres more or less formerly in the Possession of Henry Hayward which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Henry Freeland To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to her the said Hester Freeland and her Assigns for and during the Term of her Natural Life by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and She Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as appears in the Margin [£4]  She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is Respited.

Also at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his Proper Person Richard Freeland only Son and Heir of Henry Freeland deceased and humbly prayed to be admitted to One Cottage a Quarter of an Acres of Land with the Appurtenances in Bisley which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said Henry Freeland To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Richard Freeland his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£1.1s]  He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.

Whereas at a Court Baron held for this Manor on Tuesday the Sixteenth day of October One thousand seven hundred & sixty four presented That Robert Goodener of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Yeoman a Copyhold or Customary Tenant of the said Manor Did out of Court to wit on the third day of May One thousand seven hundred & sixty three Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor All that Parcel of Customary Arable Land with the Appurtenances called Lomepitts lying in three severals containing in the whole by Estimation nine Acres and then in the Occupation of the said Robert Goodener abutting upon the Lands of William Goodener on the South and on the Lands of Solomon Dayrolle on the East together with all the Rights Members and Appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining To the Use and Behoof of Thomas Attfield of Guildford in the said County of Surrey Blacksmith his Heirs and Assigns for ever under a proviso to be void on Payment unto the said Thomas Attfield his Executors Admors or Assigns of the full Sum of Seventy pounds with Interest for the same after the Rate of four pounds and ten shillings for the Hundred by the Year of lawful Money of Great Britain at or upon the second day of July then next ensuing Now at this Court came the said Thomas Attfield and Suggested that the said Principal Sum of Seventy Pounds now remained due to him the said Thomas Attfield on the said Mortgaged Premises with great arrears of Interest and therefore humbly prayed to the said Mortgaged Premises according to the said Surrender To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Thomas Attfield and his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of eight pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed Subject Nevertheless to such Equity of Redemption as the said Robert Goodener is Intitled unto and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£6]  He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
