Conditional Surrender Thomas Eacott to James Fry
Be it remembered that on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty seven Thomas Eacott of Bisley in the County of Surrey Laborer one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Joseph Hockley Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of thirty pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and Currency to him the said Thomas Eacott in hand well and truly paid by James Fry of Chobham in the County of Surrey Farmer Hath Surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece or parcel of land late parcel of the waste of the said Manor lying in Bisley Green containing about thirty rods lately enclosed by the said Thomas Eacott and also all that cottage or tenement thereupon erected now in the occupation of the said Thomas Eacott to which said premises the said Thomas Eacott was admitted Tenant at a Special Court held in and for the said Manor on the twenty fifth day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty three and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the estate right title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Eacott of into or out of the same premises and every part and parcel thereof To the only proper use and behoof of the said James Fry his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and upon this Condition nevertheless that if the said Thomas Eacott his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said James Fry his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of thirty pounds together with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency upon the thirty first day of January next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue ~ Thomas Eacott This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward Received on the day and year first above written of and from the above named James Fry the sum of thirty pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by him to me. £30 Thomas Eacott ~ Witness Edmund Vincent
[Margin Note: Be it remembered that on the fourth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty James Fry in this Surrender named did acknowledge that he had that day had and received of and from Thomas Eacott in this Surrender named All principal and Interest monies secured by and due upon this Surrender And the said James Fry did by writing under his hand of that date authorise and empower the Steward of this Manor to enter his acknowledgement of such satisfaction on the Court Rolls or Books of the said Manor accordingly. Conditional Surrender James Woods to Mary Hockley
Be it remembered that on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty seven James Woods of Windlesham in the County of Surrey Gardener one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Joseph Hockley Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of twenty five pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and Currency to him the said James Woods in hand paid by Mary Hockley late of Shiplake in the County of Oxford and now of Clevedon in the County of Somerset Spinster at or immediately before the making of this Surrender Hath Surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor One messuage garden orchard and the land thereto belonging with the appurtenances formerly in the occupation of John Snelling afterwards of James Martin since of Richard Daborn late of Stephen Collyer and now or late of James Collyer To which said premises the said James Woods was admitted Tenant at a Court Baron held for the said Manor on the nineteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine on the death of Elizabeth Woods and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the estate right title interest use trust property possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said James Woods of in to or out of the same premises and every or any part thereof To the use and behoof of the said Mary Hockley her heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Subject nevertheless to the Proviso or Condition hereinafter contained that is to say Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said James Woods his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any or either of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Mary Hockley her executors administrators or assigns the full sum of Twenty five pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year upon the thirty first day of January next ensuing the date hereof without fraud or delay and without making any deduction or abatement out of the same for or on account of any manner of taxes payments or impositions or any other matter cause or thing whatsoever over and besides the principal sum of fifty pounds and interest from henceforth to become due for the same secured by a Conditional Surrender of the same premises made by the said James Woods to the said Mary Hockley on the twenty first day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty six All interest for the said principal sum of fifty pounds being paid to the day of making this Surrender then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue ~ The X Mark of James Woods This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward in the presence of Edmund Vincent Received on the day and year first above written of and from the above named Mary Hockley the sum of twenty five pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by her to me. £25 The X Mark of James Woods ~ Witness Edmund Vincent
