Conditional Surrender William Chandler to Miss Eliza Anne Stanton
Be it remembered that on the thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty William Chandler of Bisley in the County of Surrey Farmer one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the Sum of Sixty pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency to him the said William Chandler in hand well and truly paid by Eliza Anne Stanton of Bramley in the said County Spinster Hath surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor All those two acres of land part of a parcel of Land called Miles Grove within this Manor and which said two acres adjoin Port Lane on the East the common Field called Neltro on the North the copyhold Land late of William Walden and since William Smiths called Wheat Leaz on the West and two acres other part of Miles Grove on the South late William Walkers And also one acre of Land other part of the said parcel of land called Miles Grove and which acre adjoins to Miles Green on the South Port Lane on the East to an acre of land other part of Miles Grove late James Stones on the West and to the said two acres late William Walkers on the North and held by the yearly rent of one penny halfpenny heriot suit of Court and other Services to which said premises the said William Chandler was admitted Tenant at a Special Court Baron held for the said Manor on the twelfth day of June one thousand eight hundred and nine And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said William Chandler of into or out of the said premises and every part and parcel thereof To the only proper and absolute use and Behoof of the said Eliza Ann Stanton her heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said William Chandler his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Eliza Ann Stanton her executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of Sixty together with Interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency upon the thirty first day of July now next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the sameon any account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.  William Chandler This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward – In the presence of Edmund Vincent Received the day and year first above written of and from the above named Eliza Ann Stanton the sum of sixty pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by her to me  £60 William Chandler Witness Joseph Hockley
[Margin note: Be it remembered that on the twenty ninth day of October One thousand eight hundred and fifty seven Robert Steer and Eliza Anne his wife (before her marriage Eliza Anne Stanton) in this surrender named did acknowledge that they had that day been paid and satisfied by William Chandler in this surrender also named All principal and interest monies secured by and due upon this surrender And the said Robert Steer and Eliza Anne his wife did by writing ubder their hands of that date authorize and empower the Steward to enter their acknowledgement of such satisfaction on the Court Rolls or Books of the said Manor accordingly.
