Conditional Surrender William Eacott to Henry Colebrook
Be it remembered that out of Court to wit on the twenty seventh day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty William Eacott of Chobham in the County of Surrey Farmer and one of the Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Edmund Vincent Deputy of Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds of lawful money of the Great Britain to him the said William Eacott in hand well and truly paid by Henry Colebrook of the City of Bath Gentleman Hath surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and by the acceptance of  the said Deputy Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor All that piece of Land containing by estimation one Acre more or less lying and being in the Common field called Neltro within the said Manor abutting towards the South on the hedge there and towards the North on land late of Sarah Sibthorpe and bounded on the East by land late of James Nesmith and on the West by land late of _______ Hammond And also all that one messuage called Bonnells otherwise Edmeads with the Barns edifices Gardens Orchards Curtilages and three Closes of land to the said messuage adjoining and belonging containing by Estimation seven acres one Close of land called Long Close containing by estimation one Acre and two Acres of land lying in the Common Field called Neltro abutting on the land formerly of Sarah Millest on the South lands late of John Hone on the North and lands late of John Goring on the East (to all which premises the said William Eacott was admitted on the death of his father at a general Court Baron held for the said Manor on the sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and forty two) And all other the Copyhold Lands and hereditaments of him the said William Eacott situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders of the same hereditaments and premises and of every part thereof And all the Estate right title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever of the said William Eacott of into or out of the same premises and every part and parcel thereof To the use and behoof of the said Henry Colebrook his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor  Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said William Eacott his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry Colebrook his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of four hundred pounds together with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for every one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of Great Britain upon the seventh day of August now next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever (except the property tax) and without fraud or further delay Then this surrender to be void and of none effect or else to be and remain in full force and virtue  William Eacott ~ This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Edmund Vincent deputy  Steward In the presence of Swan Downer Dean.  Received on the day and year first above written of and from the above named Henry Colebrook the sum of four hundred pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by him to me £400  William Eacott  Witness Swan Downer Dean
[Margin note:  Be it remembered that Henry Colebrook in this Surrender named did by Writing under his hand bearing date the twenty ninth day of November One thousand eight hundred and eighty three acknowledge and declare that he had been paid and satisfied all principal and Interest monies and all demands due on this Surrender and did thereby empower authorise and direct me the Steward of the said Manor to enter such his acknowledgement of having received such satisfaction upon the Court Rolls or Books of the said Manor and which I have done accordingly.
