| Humphrey Colquhoun Balloch was born, on 24 November 1890, in Chigwell, Essex. He was the son and third child of Arthur Colquhoun, a tea merchant, and Ethel Helen Hoskins (née Master). He had two sisters. At the outbreak of war, Humphrey returned from the Straits Settlements (now Malaysia and Singapore), where he was working. He obtained a commission in The Regiment. Before he could deploy, Humphrey died, during training of cerebro-spinal meningitis. Humphrey Colquhoun Balloch is buried in Allenvale Cemetery, Aberdeen. ![]() |
